Your responsibilities are as follows:

• Turn on the computers in the lab and make sure all are working Some classes will need to use the laptops in the center of the room.
• While I am away no, individual student may check-out any of the laptops from the portable lab. This is too much for you to try and keep track of. If a teacher wishes to come down and check them out, that would be fine.
• CDs - Some of the classes will be using the CDs. These are all kept in the Down stairs Lab. If they use them or you allow them to use them, PLEASE, make sure they are placed back where they belong.
• The students are not to be playing games or be on the Internet unless it is part of the assignment given.
• Students are not to be in the halls for any reason unless it is an emergency If they must go, they are to have their student planner signed by you and they must carry it with them.
• Students are to work on given assignments Not Homework!!!
• Students are to follow posted classroom and technology policies and procedures.
• Some periods I have a student helper I will designate that in the period plans They are to help you with what ever you need them for If you do not need them they may just do homework.
• At the beginning of each period:
  • Take attendance
  • Explain what the students are to do and what they are not to be doing.
• At the end of each period:
  • Students are to quite all applications and log off of their machines DO NOT SHUT THEM DOWN
  • When the bell rings they are to push their chairs in and then may leave.
  • Primary grade students are to line-up at the door, when you tell them, at the end of the period Some teachers will come and get them some will not Check with the teacher when she drops them off to see how she wants them returned.
  • Make sure you have the primary students cleaned up and ready to leave in plenty of time Most of my classes are back-to-back and you do not want any of the students waiting in the hall to come into the classroom, while the class that is in the lab, are still getting ready to leave Problems may arise in the hallway with the middle school students.

• At the end of the day:
  • Do the same as for the end of each period
  • Either have the students shut down the computers or you will have to shut them down.
  • Make sure the air conditioner is off and/or the windows closed
  • Make sure all the CDs are put away if used.
  • Push all the chairs in and make sure the lights are off.
  • Turn off the teacher machine
  • Pull the Laptop Cart backinto the room and make sure all the laptops are pluggd in.
